STAFF SPOTLIGHT

Adam Hribek, Director of I.T.
IMG_20200131_113632

Adam Hribek has been Summit’s Director of Information Technology for the past eight years. He was brought in to help get Summit’s outdated IT systems up to speed. When Adam first came to Summit, he was faced with large, clunky and unreliable computers, slow internet, no WiFi and poor network infrastructure. He eagerly accepted the challenge and has remained an integral part of Summit ever since!

Summit students adore “Mr. Adam”! He always has time to chat about the best LEGO sets or show off the latest tech gadget in his office. Adam is always ready and willing to help students, faculty and administrators however he can. He loves interacting with our students and is amazed by our fantastic teachers every day.

Adam says he loves the variety of his career at Summit. He’s always busy doing something – rebuilding a server, repairing Chromebooks that see daily wear and tear (and mysterious accidents), managing IT needs for special events, helping out with lunch or front desk duty, or offering a soothing voice to a struggling student.

Born in Melbourne, Australia, Adam is a dual citizen of Austria and Australia (and may become a US citizen soon too!). Prior to joining Summit, Adam worked for the Australian government in Melbourne and Sydney. He now lives in the Highlands with his wife April and their 9 year old son Ollie. In his free time, Adam pursues his passion of building old video arcade machines and refurbishing / trading retro gaming consoles. He also enjoys collecting LEGOS, Star Wars, and skateboards. Adam also enjoys stepping out of the computer and tech world to pursue one of his other passions – cooking Southeast Asian food! He loves experimenting with Malaysian laksa, Vietnamese pho, Singapore noodles and Thai curries.

- fun fact -

Adam has a cockatoo named Roger that still lives back in Australia. Roger is more than 50 years old… and he enjoys noisily waking the neighbors at 6am every day!
