After School Activities

After school activities are an important part of community life at Summit Academy.  They offer an opportunity for our students to explore their talents and interests while having a place to practice social and teamwork skills. The team sports and activities we offer vary depending on students’ abilities, needs and preferences. Therefore, club offerings are subject to change each school year.

Below is a list of frequent and/or currently offered clubs. Feel free to contact school administration or club sponsors to express interest in a particular club. This page will be updated periodically as additional activities open for registration. *Clubs marked with an asterisk are either closed or not available at this time.

Art, Animation, & Design

GRADES 9-12 
This is a student requested and student driven club. Together we will be creating and sharing art, along with working collaboratively on projects. Students will be creating art manually, but may bring tablets to create digitally as well. Limit 12 students.

Craft Club (Session 3)

GRADES 1-5
Craft club is for imaginative students who have a passion for all things crafty. From colorful paper projects to DIY wonders, students will embark on a journey of artistic exploration, fostering creativity, project planning, and fine motor skills in a fun and supportive environment. Limit 8 students.

Soccer Shots

GRADES K-4 
Soccer Shots focuses on individual skill, fitness and sportsmanship, providing an opportunity for students to be challenged through games and team interaction. View flyer▸

Drama & Improv Club

GRADES 5-12 
Students will participate in activities to learn about stagecraft, theatre vocabulary, script reading, portraying emotions, and character development. They will also have the opportunity to participate in various skits, monologues, improvisations, and drama games each week. There will be no performance with this session. Limit 20 students.

Gym Time

GRADES 9-12
Students will participate in organized “pick-up” games in the such as dodgeball, basketball, floor hockey, etc.  Everyone who joins should be willing and ready to actively participate. We will work on good sportsmanship and cooperation while we have fun. Club will meet in the Gym or Back Field. Limit 16 students.

Bowling Club (Session 2)

GRADES 9-12 
Bowling gives students an opportunity to become involved in their high school and teaches good-sportsmanship and fundamentals for a lifetime activity.

Lego Club*

GRADES K-12
Lego Club is more than just play; it’s a hands-on learning experience. Sessions will focus on fine motor skills, planning and design, following directions, creativity, and team building. Lego Club will offer a balanced mix of activities to cater to our wide range of interests and skills. Activities will include free building, where students can explore their imaginations and practice self-expression; directed challenges that will test students’ problem-solving skills and encourage innovative thinking; and other projects that will pique their interest. Limit has been exceeded.

Nature Craft Club*

GRADES 1-5
Nature Craft Club is a fun and engaging after-school activity that combines the beauty of the outdoors with the joy of creating something unique. During each session, students will transform items found in nature into imaginative crafts. Limit has been met.

Cooking Club: Kessler's Kitchen*

GRADES 4-12 
Kessler’s Kitchen is offered in remembrance of former parent, board president, friend, and enthusiastic supporter, Amy Kessler. One of Amy’s passions was cooking – she loved entertaining for her friends and being in the kitchen. Five sessions will be offered with a limit of four students per session.

Kickball Club*

GRADES 5-8 
Come out and enjoy time with friends while learning the rules to kickball and playing each week. Club will be held in the field behind the annex building. In the event of inclement weather, we will play in the gym. Students should wear or bring tennis shoes and can bring athletic attire to change into after school.

Next Level Coding Club*

GRADES 5-12 
Students will use engaging software to develop coding skills while working on specifically designed projects. Coding Club is a fun way to learn to code in a social, after-school setting. Limit 15 students per session.
