Dyslexia Events

The first Louisville Chapter of the Kentucky International Dyslexia Association is hosting a series of events in preparation for Dyslexia Month in October.

The first event will be Dislecksia: The Movie on September 10, 6:30 p.m. at Stonybrook Theatre

Summit Academy students, parents, teachers, and staff march down Main Street in the Middletown Parade every year. After the parade, it's back to Summit for a picnic for all of our families!

A "Walk In My Shoes" is a free, one-hour, entertaining and informative session that is helpful for parents, grandparents, and siblings.  Everyone is welcome.

This will be a FREE DRESS DAY, so make sure your student looks his or her best!


Picture order forms will go home in backpacks at the end of this week.

Teen Leaders Club at the YMCA

The mission of the Teen Leaders' Club is to strengthen the community by instilling the core values of Honesty, Caring, Respect and Responsibility in teens through hands-on, real-life leadership activities, leadership retreats, and volunteering. It is designed to introduce teens ages 13-18 years of age to service to others, volunteerism, social interaction and appreciation for diversity through the philosophy of the YMCA. Trinity is hosting a special parent coffee for parents with students at dePaul, Meredith Dunn, and Summit Academy. It is open to any parent whose son is in 7th or 8th grade. Back to School Blood Drive

We will be hosting a blood drive on Tuesday, September 1 from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. as our first community service activity.

Butterflies & Balloons butterflies


Last week Mrs. Mathews' class watched with excitement as their butterfly emerged from its cocoon. They next day they set "Big Debbie" free!


Mrs. Strong's class celebrated Friday by launching water balloons into the field next to the playground... and then at each other!
