Board of Trustees is pleased to announce the recommendation of
James K. Elliott as next Head of Summit Academy, pending
ratification of the full Board at the May meeting on May 21, 2014.
The Board of Trustees' Search Committee unanimously reached its
decision after reviewing and interviewing over 30 candidates from
across the country.

Crusade for Children has been extremely generous to Summit Academy - providing
over $166,000 over the past 17 years that has funded our Pre-K/K
programs, technology advancements, and needed equipment and
This year we will be competing to see which faculty
members will get slimed! (...and who
will get to be made into a slime sundae!)
Here is how the collection will work:
MONDAY - PENNIES
TUESDAY - NICKELS
WEDNESDAY - DIMES
THURSDAY - QUARTERS
collection containers in the lobby for each participating faculty member.
The lucky ones with the most money at the end of the week will get
slimed by our students at the Carnival!
of L Tennis Center in coordination with FEAT of Louisville will be
offering a summer tennis program in 2014. The program will be 5 weeks
long with one lesson per week on Tuesdays, beginning June 17th
(depending on interest, a second, 5 wk
session may be offered). The class will be from 12:00 - 1:30 p.m. each
Tuesday. The lessons will be held at the Bassrudd
Tennis Center (indoor tennis facility).
The cost is $25 per 5 week session per
child. Ages 7 and up are welcome. If you have multiple children
interested in the program, they are welcome as well.

May 28th at 9:30 a.m. at the Hurstbourne Country Club. Please

I Can! is individual tutoring
that will help give your child a solid foundation and a thorough
understanding of the concepts and skills needed for the next leg
of his or her academic journey. One-on-one tutoring is available in
all subject areas, and uses proven strategies to meet the
educational needs of your student. Tutoring sessions are
50-minutes long, and can be scheduled any number of times per week
to work around your summer schedule.
Discovery is being offered this summer from 9:00 - 12:00 a.m. for
students entering K - 4. It is the perfect combination of fun,
socialization, discovering new skills and interests, and academic
skills reinforcement. Technology, nature, cooking, models, and arts
& crafts are just some of the discovery topics!
