year we raised $1,500 for the Crusade and we would love to exceed that
amount in 2014! The Crusade for Children has been extremely generous to
Summit Academy - providing over $166,000 over the past 17 years that
has funded our Pre-K/K programs, technology advancements, and needed
equipment and instructional materials.

8th Grade Portraits
Individual portraits and a group photo will be taken on Tuesday, May 6.
Eighth grade students should arrive at school in their regular uniform
and bring a change of clothes for the pictures. You will receive
further information on pictures and attire in the coming weeks.
This year's brunch will be held on Wednesday May 28th at
9:30 a.m. at the Hurstbourne Country Club. Please

I Can! is individual tutoring
that will help give your child a solid foundation and a thorough
understanding of the concepts and skills needed for the next leg
of his or her academic journey. One-on-one tutoring is available in
all subject areas, and uses proven strategies to meet the
educational needs of your student. Tutoring sessions are
50-minutes long, and can be scheduled any number of times per week
to work around your summer schedule.
Discovery is being offered this summer from 9:00 - 12:00 a.m. for
students entering K - 4. It is the perfect combination of fun,
socialization, discovering new skills and interests, and academic
skills reinforcement. Technology, nature, cooking, models, and arts
& crafts are just some of the discovery topics!

Summit Academy staff, students, and
families gather annually at the Louisville Zoo to participate in the 5K
Throo the Zoo run/walk. This year's Throo the Zoo will take place on Saturday, May 10.
Join the Summit
Academy Fitness Club and other students and families! (All who
participate get admission to the zoo for the rest of the day.) Each
participant will be responsible for their own
registration fee and bib number pick up. The Summit group will meet in
the bus parking lot before the race.
