Dear Chevonne, hope all had a happy and restful long weekend. With the fridge still stuffed with Thanksgiving leftovers, many of us hung our wreaths and put up our lights over the weekend to prepare for the holidays!

As the temperatures drop and the threat of severe winter weather rises, please be aware of our procedure for closings and delays. If Jefferson County Public Schools are closed for severe weather, Summit Academy will be closed. If Jefferson County Public Schools are on a two-hour delay - Summit Academy will have a one hour delay. You will also receive an automated voice message on all phone numbers listed for your student.

Love College Basketball?  Enjoy Kentucky Bourbon?  Looking for a fun way to get involved and help support Summit Academy?  Join us for Bluegrass Bourbon & Basketball, Saturday evening, March 1, 2014 - a fun-filled evening including bourbon tastings, great food, live music and an exciting live auction.

Want to help us plan and implement our event?  The planning committee is meeting today (November 25) at 6 pm in the conference room. Can't make it tonight?  Contact Teri to find out how you can help!

At this time we are recruiting corporate sponsors and live auction donations. Tickets will go on sale in January. Contact Teri Hardman via email at or 244.7813 for information on how you and your company can get involved.

Speed Stacks Group Order

We are currently doing a sport stacking unit in P.E. Sport Stacking is an exciting sport where students stack and un-stack 12 specially designed cups (Speed Stacks) in predetermined sequences. It promotes hand-eye coordination, ambidexterity, quickness, concentration, and fitness.

Mr. Carden is coordinating a group order for Speed Stacks. Group order participants:

  • Receive special school discounts on their favorite gear
  • Take advantage of free shipping on all orders
  • Help our school earn free equipment - the more you order, the more we earn for the program.

Product brochures are available at the front desk. To join the group order, go to the Group Order Store online at, find our school on the listing, and place your order.

Contact Mr. Carden via email with any questions.
