 Dear Chevonne,

Thank you to all who attended the Village Anchor dinner last night! We were pleased to see the number of families out supporting our school.

This Friday will be a half day and the beginning of Winter Break! There will not be another Monday Update until January 6 so remember, students do not return from break until Tuesday, January 7.

We wish you and your families a blessed and joyous holiday season! you to all our families who have given to our Annual Giving Campaign - either through the Mountaintop Breakfast last month or as a result of our letter appeal. Currently, 26% of our parents have made a contribution - our goal is 100% participation from our families. If you haven't already done so, please consider making a gift today!  CLICK HERE to make a donation online.

As you are considering your gift and perhaps speaking to friends and relatives who may be considering a gift, please keep these things in mind:

  • Tuition does not fully cover the cost of educating a student at Summit Academy. We try to keep our tuition costs as low as possible, but only 75-80% of the costs are covered through tuition payments.
  • Our Annual Giving Campaign, which kicks off with the Mountaintop Breakfast, is our largest fundraising activity and helps to "bridge the gap" between expenses and tuition revenue.
  • All donations to Summit Academy are tax-deductible.
  • A fully invested parent body - one that supports our Annual Giving Campaign - helps Summit Academy raise additional dollars through grants and foundation appeals.

No gift is too small... or too large!

Dyslexia Study

dyslexiaBelow you will find a link to an article regarding dyslexia. While we have know for some time that the root problem for dyslexia is often associated with poor phonemic development, this study seems to indicate that the phonemic data is intact for the dyslexic person but the  speed of  processing impedes learning to read.

The Summit Academy Drama Club presents Toy School, a story about a group of toys attending school in order to graduate and receive their price tags. Not graduating from Toy School means certain doom at the Toy Dump!

Wednesday, December 18 & Thursday, December 19 at 1:00 p.m. in the auditorium.

The production is preceded by a musical presentation by our students!
