Welcome To Summit'd like to welcome two new Summit students:

William Riggle (kindergarten) and Brynna Rose (2nd grade). We're so glad you're here!


Grandparents Day hope to see all of our Grandparents on Thursday, October 10 from 9-11 a.m. for Grandparent's Day 


The day will begin with a continental breakfast, a visit with Mrs. Thornton, and then grandparents will visit in their grandchild's classroom.

PTO Announcements 


Summit Academy PTO Parent University
will be held on Tuesday, October 8 at 7:00 p.m. in the auditorium. The topic Diet and Other Non-Medical Treatments for ADHD is presented by Meredith Loveless, M.D.

Look in backpacks for information about the latest fundraiser from Thirty-One. They offer trendy, affordable purses, totes, bags and

Ski Club your child enjoy snow tubing, skiing, or snowboarding? Join Summit's Ski Club!

An informational meeting will be held on Thursday, October 3 at 7:00 p.m. in the conference room.


Anyone wanting information about this club should plan to attend. Chris West from Paoli Peaks will be here to answer questions.


Coffee Talk you are a PreK-3rd grade parent, meet with Mrs. Thornton and Mr. Joe to talk about what's on your mind. 


The coffee will be hot on Wednesday, October 2, at 8:30 a.m. in the conference room. See you then!


Bring in Your Gently Worn Shoes


Our intermediate classes are collecting shoes for WaterStep. This organization helps to provide clean water all over the world. The shoes will be distributed to the women and children who, most often times, walk many miles to collect their water.

Shoes of all sizes and styles will be accepted until Friday, September 27. Deliver them to any member of the Intermediate Team: Mrs. Strong, Mrs. Mathews, Mrs. Gallison, Mrs. Gaddie, and Mrs. Hill.


Kosair Charities Needs Our Help
As you know, Summit Academy receives generous financial contributions from Kosair Charities. Thanks to these gifts, we are able to provided needed services to our students that we could not otherwise fund.


Kosair Charities is celebrating 90 years this year and their celebration culminates with the Kosair Charities Fall Fest

 at their Eastern Parkway Campus on October 12 from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.


Kosair is in need of volunteers to help in the Reunion Tent, Sponsor Tent, Lost Kid Booth as well as wherever help is needed. Time slots are available for: 9:30 a.m.-2 p.m.; 2-6 pm; 6-10 pm.


If you would like to volunteer, please contact Debi Longfellow via email or at 244-7090. Please state where you want to help and what time slot you prefer.
