Week 1: April 6-10, 2020
PAPER FLOWERS (THE SPEED MUSEUM)
- Take 2-3 coffee filters and choose a few markers. Use your markers to lightly color in your flower. (Don’t worry too much about detail!)
- Place your filters on a paper plate. Using a dropper, add a few drops of water around the edges and one drop in the center. You don’t need to add much – watch how the colors spread and change!
- Lift your flower off of the plate and press it between two sheets of paper to remove excess water. Let this set for a minute. You can speed up the drying process using a hair dryer.
- Now you can assemble your flower! Grab a pipe cleaner and make a knot at one end. Poke the other end through the center of your filter and pull it through. Do this again with your second filters to add layers. Twist the pipe cleaner under your flower to keep the layers in place.
