As we usher in another school year, the word “new” gets used a lot. New students, new groupings, new curriculum, new school supplies and so forth. And of course the BIG new thing here at Summit is the new High School – a much talked about and anticipated program. However, among all of the new things going on, there have been several other new developments happening behind the scenes that should not be overlooked.
The new (not vinyl) parade banner is ready to make its debut at the Middletown Parade.
And you can’t have a high school without a high school teacher. Welcome, Mr. Ben Harris!
New Chromebooks for our middle and high school students were purchased through a grant from Ronald McDonald House.
Thanks to a grant from the GE Employee Community Fund, we were able to purchase iPads (loaded with a myriad of learning tools) for our primary students. All of the new technology additions required extensive infrastructure upgrades that we were able to fund through grants from WHAS Crusade for Children and The Cralle Foundation.
Our art students will get to try their hand at ceramics this year thanks to the Gilbert Foundation, who provided funding for a brand new shiny KILN!
Mrs. Matthews, our librarian, has been VERY busy setting up a new library arrangement
And, finally, we cannot leave out the pièce de resistance…
Welcome back, Summit students and families! We are excited to get started on a NEW school year!
