Soggy weather didn’t keep us from enjoying the last day of school, celebrated each year with the Summit Academy School Carnival. As carnivals go, there were the usual suspects – food, excitement, activities, and most of all, fun. This year’s carnival did not disappoint! Thank you to the Scheler family for donating the carnival concessions.
What’s a carnival without face painting?
Or a bounce house?
Each year, our school gives back to WHAS Crusade for Children by raising money through our Coins for Crusade campaign. The students and staff “vote” with coins on which teachers they would enjoy seeing covered in slime. This year, the lucky winners were Mrs. Lape, Ms. Middleton, Mrs. Strong, and Mr. Carden.
It really is diverting to see the teachers coated in icky goo. The students see it as sweet revenge for being a teacher – the reason they have to get up early and come to school 180+ days a year.
Even an art teacher.
Or a P.E. teacher.
Him most of all…
The carnival is a fitting way to end the school year and usher in summer.
Because it’s all in the name of fun!
Happy summer to all of our students and faculty!
