Summit Academy is here today due to the generosity of many different individuals and organizations. With their support, we have changed the lives of hundreds of students that others have been unable to reach and teach. We have been able to give them the academic, social, and emotional tools necessary to make their dreams possible.
Among these supporters, Kosair Charities has played a crucial role in making our school what it is today.
Their contributions to the overall mission of our school have allowed us to continually improve our instructional programming, maintain our facility, and provide vital services such as Speech Therapy for students who need it.
Most recently, we were enormously grateful to be among the four educational institutions to receive a surprise gift of 1 million dollars each from Kosair Charities. This contribution represents the largest gift in Summit’s 25-year history. Our Head of School, Jamey Elliott, and member of our Board, Susannah Stevenson, were present to receive the gift.
Our Board President, Leslie Lanham, said, “This surprising and amazing gift is something we are all extraordinarily grateful to Kosair Charities for. It will make a tremendous impact at Summit for years to come. While our needs are many and varied, our board will take time to develop a plan for how to best use these resources. In the meantime, let’s all take the opportunity to thank our friends at Kosair when we can.”
Thank you Kosair Charities!
