So much goes into the start of a new school year. Classrooms are switched up and rearranged and curriculum materials are distributed. New students are reviewed so that teachers fully understand their strengths and weaknesses and how they can effectively address their social, emotional, physical, and academic needs in the classroom. Students are carefully grouped and potentially re-grouped to ensure the best placement for math and literacy based on their current level of achievement and rate of learning. These elements – and many others – are essential for a successful school year.
But even with the utmost planning the first few days of school can be nerve wracking – for teachers and students. So we decided to set the tone by starting the school year off with a bang, or should I say, bash.
Students and staff alike shook off the back-to-school blues by showing off their moves in back field.
It was so good to see all of our students together again…
And to meet some of the new ones!
A little fun and silliness can be a welcome diversion before getting back to the daily grind and the Back to School Bash did the trick. From the looks of it we’re off to a great start!
